I’ve been involved in a project of curriculum development on “Multicultural Social Work”. and in many intensive programs (social work in Europe, social work and mental health, supervision).
From 2002 to 2005 I co-ordinated the TN EUSW- European Social Work- ommonalities and Differencies and since 2005 the TN “EUSW- European Platform for Worldwide Social Work” In November 2004, I was invited, like European expert, to be member of the evaluation commission for Phd thesis in Universitat de les Illes Balears . I organised the European Congress “Social Changes and Social Professions” that took place in Parma between the 15th and the 17th of March 2007.
President of the EASSW (European Association of Schools of Social Work) and member of the Executive Committee as Regional Vice-President of IASSW (International Association of Schools of Social Work) Secretary of AIDOSS ( Italian Association of Teachers in Social Work ) Member of the scientific committees in the following journals: “Lavoro Sociale”, “Rassegna di Servizio Sociale”,”Prospettive Sociali e Sanitarie” and in the Editorial Board of “International Social Work” and “European Journal of Social Work”.
Research interests are mainly inked to theoretical and methodological aspect of social work. I’ve been the first in Italy to experiment the systemic approach in social work, publishing books on this topic and realising training courses on this new model. I also conducted research regarding child abuses and the role of social workers, (Campanini, A. (ed.) (1993), Il maltrattamento all'infanzia, Roma: NIS) and methodology and techniques in social work (Bianchi and Ponticelli (eds.) (1994), Storie di lavoro nel servizio sociale, Milano: Franco Angeli). I participated in the research conducted by Prof. Ingrosso on “Reti di servizi e percorsi degli utenti in due ecosistemi socioeducativi” ("Reti e percorsi delle famiglie nel settore sociale" in Ingrosso (ed.), Rapporto finale della ricerca intervento, Parma 30 aprile 1997) and in the research on community development, coordinated by Prof. Giorio, University of Trieste, “Sviluppo di comunità locali: analisi comparata in aree territoriali definibili complementari” (Giorio, G.; Lazzari, F. and Merler, A. (eds.) (1999), Dal micro al macro, Padova: CEDAM). I’ve been involved in a multidisciplinary piece of research on the theoretical fundamentals of social work and I was member of the scientific committee of the “Dizionario di Servizio Sociale” , the first Italian Dictionary in Social Work, for the area concerning social work methodologies. Evaluation in social work is an other field of interest. I organised and chaired two workshops on that topic with some European contributions in the annual congress of Italian Society of Evaluation. I’m working on a project of research, funded by IASSW, on the assessment of parental capacities and children needs. European education is at present a great area of research and interest. All the activities linked to Thematic Network are oriented in this sense. I received a grant from the Italian University and Research Minister to realise a survey on the education in Europe with particular regard to the field training.
